Travel by car via Denmark
It is possible to travel to Sweden by car from the continent via Denmark. You pass two toll bridges. The island of Öland is connected to the Swedish mainland via a toll-free bridge. You can also bring your car on the ferry: Ferry from Puttgarden to Rodby in Denmark. Travel on by car over a toll bridge to Sweden. Ferry from Travemunde to Trelleborg in Sweden. Ferry from Rostock to Trelleborg in Sweden.
Travel by train and/or plane
There are good train connections between Copenhagen and the continent. Trains depart regularly from Copenhagen to the city of Kalmar in Sweden. From Kalmar, which is a city on the mainland over the bridge from the island of Öland, there are buses to Öland via regular bus services and Närtrafiken (must be booked in advance). The trains to Kalmar also depart from Copenhagen Airport if you are traveling by plane to Denmark.
